2. Simonov a monastery

Simonov a monastery is based in 1370 in village Old Simonov. From an initial site the Temple of Christmas of the Virgin in Old Simonov (initially was wooden) has remained. The monastery for centuries of existence has sustained much. In 1591 it reflected attacks of Crimean khan Kazy-Girej. But as well as much sacred, in the Soviet 1330th years the monastery almost completely has been barbarous destroyed. On its place there was Palace of culture ZIL and stadium of a name of Streltsov. The Uspensky cathedral, two towers, over-gates temples, a high bellto wer (90) are taken down. The necropolis where outstanding figures of culture, arts, representatives of many dynasties of noble family have been buried is destroyed. The part of the walls, three watchtowers, the Tikhvin church with the meal chamber, some constructions by miracle has remained. In some premises factory shops have settled down. In 2000th years the monastery rests have started to be restored gradually. However all monastery not to restore any more - recreation centre ZIL too became now a monument of culture and is protected by the state. After all it - the Palace of culture first in the country at factory.
